What BlurBaby does

The whole idea, in a single glance

A visible little face becomes a permanent, friendly cover - nothing to read, just look.

A split illustration: on the left a child's face is clearly visible, and on the right the same photo shows the face hidden under a solid coral cover.
Before and after: the face is covered for good

How it works

Four gentle steps to a photo you can share

No sign-up, no learning curve. From the moment you pick a photo to the moment you save it, everything stays on your device. Scroll to watch it happen.

  1. Choose a photo

Pick any photo from your device. It opens right here in your browser and stays there - nothing is ever uploaded.

  2. Faces are found on-device

BlurBaby spots faces locally in a moment. Missed one? Just drag a soft cover over it yourself.

  3. Cover them for good

The default cover replaces each face with a solid block, so it can never be peeled back or recovered.

  4. Share with a light heart

Download a clean copy with location and camera data stripped away, ready to post wherever you like.

Share with confidence

Post the memory, not the identity

You shouldn't have to choose between sharing the joy and guarding your child's privacy. Cover the face in seconds and send it to grandparents, group chats or the whole internet - knowing strangers and algorithms can't identify them.

  • The soft cover looks intentional, not clinical.
  • Your original photo stays untouched on your device.
  • Location and camera data are stripped when you export.

Made for real family photos

Every face, covered in a couple of taps

Siblings, cousins, the whole birthday party - BlurBaby finds the faces for you and lets you add a cover over anyone it misses with a quick drag. No fiddly tools, no guesswork.

  • Automatic on-device face detection.
  • Add or remove covers by hand, any time.
  • Works on phones, tablets and computers.

The cover method matters

Covers that can't be undone

A soft blur leaves a recoverable ghost behind. BlurBaby defaults to a genuinely irreversible cover instead - so protected really means protected.

Three cards showing the same child's face covered three different ways: a solid coral block, a smiley emoji sticker, and a soft dotted pattern.
Redact, sticker or pattern - each one fully opaque

Redact

Privacy-safe

A solid, opaque block replaces the face. The original pixels are gone for good, so nothing can reconstruct it. This is the default.

Sticker

Privacy-safe

Just as permanent as redaction - the area is filled opaque first, then topped with a friendly emoji you pick, so it looks warm and intentional.

Pattern

Privacy-safe

A playful checker or dot pattern in soft brand colours. Fully opaque underneath, so it destroys the original pixels just like a redaction.

Pixelate

Privacy-safe

The natural pixelated look - but safe. The face is erased and replaced with a synthetic mosaic, so there are no original pixels left for AI to reverse.

Blur

Aesthetic only

Aesthetic only, and clearly labelled. A blur or mosaic of the real pixels can be reversed by AI, so we never pretend it's real protection.

Video, too

Covers that follow every frame

Faces are tracked across the whole clip and covered in every single frame - all in your browser, nothing uploaded.

Private by design

Your photo never leaves your device

Uploading to a face-blur website means handing over the very image you're trying to protect. BlurBaby keeps everything on your own screen - and cleans the hidden data out on the way.

Hands holding a phone that shows a family photo with the face covered, ringed by a padlock and a protective shield, beside a crossed-out cloud - nothing is uploaded.

On your device

Nothing is ever uploaded

Your photo is opened, edited and saved entirely on your device - no cloud, no account, no server ever sees it.

A covered photo with its location pin, camera and timestamp tags dissolving away as the clean copy is exported.

Clean on export

Location and camera data, gone

Exporting re-encodes the image, so GPS coordinates, camera details and timestamps are stripped from the copy you share.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Does my photo get uploaded?

Never. BlurBaby runs entirely in your browser. Your photo is decoded, edited and exported on your own device - it never touches a server.

Is the cover really permanent?

Yes, with Redact, Sticker or Pattern. All three overwrite the face with a fully opaque cover, so there are no original pixels left to recover.

Does it work on videos too?

Yes, for short clips (up to 30 seconds). Faces are detected and tracked across every frame, covered permanently, and the video is re-encoded - all in your browser, nothing uploaded.

Is it free?

Your first photo is free with no account. For regular use there are affordable credit packs and a subscription. See the pricing page for details.

Does it remove location data?

Yes. Exporting re-encodes the image, which strips EXIF metadata including GPS coordinates and timestamps.
